Axis Zero: A Metaverse Game Built for Real Gamers

In 2021, metaverse games were overrun by crypto whales speculating on virtual land, turning digital worlds into stagnant marketplaces instead of vibrant gaming experiences. Players deserved better.

Axis Zero was designed as a living, ever-changing world where gameplay—not speculation—drove the experience. One day, your home might sit beside a resource-rich volcano; the next, shifting landscapes place you near a dense forest teeming with new challenges. Players could craft, build, and shape the world while participating in a real digital economy.

I led the game’s concept, lore, art direction, and design. We made it through prototyping, but the crypto winter of 2022 put development on hold. Below, you’ll find the trailer, key art, and character and land PFPs.
